Rene, you never cease to amaze me! Once again you are going way to make our lives easier. Thanks!

Trying a 17mm wrench I discovered this nut is a hex nut 17 mm, so here's a new addition to the metric sizes database.

Wondering what size nut is used on the other Dyna models/years??

If you check and let me know I'll add your info to the database as well!
It was the same size on my 2000 Road King IIRC.

In this thread

Correct wrench to take off a 2006 Dyna rear axle nut

forum member johnnycocktails is informing us that "The correct wrench to take off a 2006 Dyna rear axle nut is 28mm..."

Both 2007 and 2006 use the same rear axle nut (item 2 in diagram below; p/n 8039).

Working on my clutch when I installed the ClutchWiz this week, I noticed all Big Twin 1998-2012 models pressure plate retainer ring use the same 10mm 12-point hex bolts (6) p/n 2980

Useful link on fastener specs, posted by mattVA:

These have been listed already with previous years but FWIW 2014 FXDB continues the trend of:

10mm hex bolts on the clutch spring retaining plate
35 mm fork cap

Working on my FXD '03 replacing the fork tube seals I noticed the fork damper screw needs an extended 6mm hex socket wrench:

SCREW M8 X 1.25 x 27 hex socket, p/n 45405-75A
