bike has 5k miles. never dumped. must sell fast price is low with intentions of selling in a day or 2. easily a 11k bike. no engine mods just screaming eagle pipes"
When something sounds too good to be true it usually is.First look for any oil smears or drips, check the condition of the oil, check for loose parts, scratches or dents.check the mileage and then as joe said take it for a spin through the gears and then ----what a deal if it is real!
Sounds like an amazing deal to me, maybe a little too good. It has me thinking caveat emptor.
OTOH, my FXD is a 2005, and I've had no problems in 20K miles. Other than the cam chain tensioner issue (which wouldn't be a problem yet at 5K), I don't think there's much to worry about other than the typical general condition stuff.

Make sure it is not stolen. Ask to see the title and the vehicle registration - ensure the same name is on both and that the VIN matches between the bike and the title and the registration. Make sure the title has no alterations to it. Run a Carfax too.

Stay away, its a scam..
I'll tell what happened with me in Dallas,TX when I was looking for a HD
This guy was ready to sell 2007 1200L to me for 4000$, bike had only 323 miles on it.
The guy who was selling the bike was named "Mark..."
The title that the guy was holding had a name called "Jonathan...." on it
I asked "Mark" how come you are selling the bike and your name is not on the title and he gave me some answers which was BS...
Anyhow I was still optimistic and took a copy of the title to HD to find out if it is real or not
Finally got to know that the bike has been listed as stolen one in Houston,TX for almost 2 years
I dont know whether HD took care of this or not, but I was saved....
