Default HELPP!!!!!! Im at a dead end.

Hey guys, I got a problem, and for the last few hours ive been reading the forum, and havent found a thread helping me fix my problem..

ok so here goes.

First, I have an
09 Fat Bob,
Power Commander,
Stage 1 Air cleaner,
a set of Slipons by Khrome Werks.

Over the last few days we've had a pretty good downpour of rain, and well with me at work, I left my scoot outside and she got seriously drenched, and well of course dirty...

So like a good owner that i hope i am, I washed, compounded, waxed, and polished her chrome all nice nice...wow she looked soo sexy sitting there. mmmm, whoa wait a sec, sorry side tracked.

So i got on her and took her for a ride. Well thats where my nightmare began..

1. She stalled, sputtered, and stalled.

2. repeated attempts to turn her on, ended with her sputtering at the air cleaner and stalling with a pop

3. she would eventually turn over, and then idle and stall.

remedy??? this is what i did just in case it was water damaged.

I removed air cleaner and dried any water.

i opened fuse panel cleaned and dried any potential water and cleaned her with WD-40.

well that did the trick, she started and idled, but when i went for the ride, everytime i stopped, she stalled.

during the actual ride, she would surge, she would hesitate, she would pop, and then on a few occassons, she would stall again..

Im soo confused as to where to look. HELPPP!!!!!!!

Greetings,

It's a longshot I know, but depending on how hard the rain was did some end up in the gas tank?

goodness, i couldnt even tell ya, the caps were on good and tight.

doesnt seem to run rough, just surges, hesitates, races then stalls out.

im thinking electrical. but goodness, i check all the obvious places.

im ruling out water.

this all happened today after the wash and wax.

just like a typical bitch to be cleaned, pruned and proper, and then have an attitude.

I still think it's water related, take a hair dryer or blower and dry it up more. Check the connections for the injectors, coil, plugs. That's the same problem I had with my PC lll, had to scrap it.

Disconnect the PC and see if it will run. If so then dry out the PCV and its connectors and use dielectric grease. Then plug it back in. If it continues to run poorly after plugging the PCV back in its probably time to scrap the PCV.

This seems to be a common problem with add on modules, if you don't treat the connectors and put the module in a waterproof bag and then get wet.

ok, so your saying the connectors to the PC, or the connectors to the injectors, you mean water is fouling up the signal??

but if that were the case, wouldnt that dry up after the bike has idled and heated up for a period of time?

i let it idle on and off, for at least and hour,
well not including the shut off time when she died on me which ill admit was frequent.

ok, ill pull the injector connectors firt thing and WD-40 them, and then ill double check my PC-Vconnection tomorrow as well and see what that looks like

Yes it would dry up, but if you ran it wet you might have shorted/fried something out on the PC board in the module it self. I know this example isn't bike related, but here it goes. You drop your cell in the water and if you keep trying to use it you kill your phones electronics. Now the second you drop it in the water you pick it up and pull the battery and let it dry for a couple days, then it works fine. How I know this you ask! My wife dropped her brand new phone in the toilet and lost the same phone in the snow found it the next day. That phone worked till our contract was up (2yrs). My point is you keep allowing current to run across wet electronics you're going to fry something. If water got into the PC the ride from work may have fried the PC, which is why one of the guys above might have had to toss his!!

best guess is the pc took a crap on ya and is sending wrong signals.
disconnect the pc and start the bike. it will be ok . take it around the block to see if you still have the problems.
might be a good time to invest in a TTS and a good solid tune.
