Default Power Commander V

Thinking about ordering a PCV. I have an 09 FXDC with V&H Big Radius 2 into 1 with the S.E. cleaner and flashed by the dealer (last year). The bike runs fine...or at least seems to so I was wondering what differences I would notice if I installed one. Most of the posts I have read about it involves getting rid of decel popping which I have none. Also know that V&H make a fuel plug in deal but not sure what the difference between the two is. Thanks in advance,

Mike

I have an 09 SB, with a stage 1 air kit and Samson Shorty's and it made all the difference. I put it on about a week after the air kit and the pipes and I noticed a huge difference in how the bike responded when I rolled on the throttle and I had no popping when I would decelerate. I know plenty of people who have used a race tuner to get better hp numbers and torque numbers, but I'll know more after I get mine dyon'd next week as to how the PC5 stacks up. It's really easy to install and is basically a plug and play.

If you bike runs fine with no decel popping why bother? I wouldn't

I've never had a water issue with mine and I live in Seattle where it rains more than it doesn't.

I also have a 2009 FXDC, I installed the V & H Big Radius 2/1, V & H Drak intake and V & H FuelPak all at the same time so I can't say what the difference would be without the FuelPak.The power increase was noticeable and the bike even feels like it rides smoother at all speeds. It's raining here right now but this weekend it's supposed to be sunny and 80 degrees with light wind, I'm gone.

The PCV will add some fuel so the bike will feel peppy to you, and probably run a little cooler. It will also reduce gas mileage. If you are happy with your ride, I don't think there would be that significant of an improvement, probably more trouble than its worth.

If you want to be sure the 09 bike is running about as best it can, regardless, I would suggest you look at the TTS tuning kit. You can get pretty much spot on tune yourself for maybe $100 more than the PCV, without dealing with the extra hardware (or dyno expense if you want to go that far). Just saying its a good option for you.

You will find a few with PCV hardware issues. Most, by far, have no problems. You can always disconnect the PCV, I think, and run the bike without it.

Does the PCV retain the use of the O2 sensors for closed loop operation?

I haven't upgraded to the V but have been very happy with my PCIII. I know it is not the ultimate tuner but is a good tuner. I have been very happy with the support Fuel Moto has given me over the years, like emailing me a custom map so I could break in my 95" upgrade. That way I could safely put 1000 miles on before I went to a dyno for the final mapping. Your bike comes very lean from Harley and I would want to add fuel to lower the cylinder temps..........

Ditto what tdshepard said. I have PCV from fuel Moto. I told them the pipes and intake I ordered and they set it up perfectly. I have way more power than stock. I have read on here that if I ever have an issue I just need to talk to Jamie at Fuel Moto and he'll hook me up. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
