To me it looks like the writing goes to towards the tire. That means the hole at the end bolts to the swing arm at the OE shock mount and the hole in the middle being where the shock mounts to. (that was how the Honda kit was) With this design when you jack the bike up (no matter how tight you make those bolts...) the block will pivot and almost create an extension to the shock. In my mind this creates the (unlikely) possibility that this could become a moving part if something were to happen. It is not rigidly mounted to the bike.
I was just trying to get a couple pictures to confirm both my memory of how the ness kit mounts and how I think the other brands mount.
We just installed the AB Mfg kit from eBay on my gf's 2000 Lowrider with HD hard bags. No chance of these becoming an additional pivot point. In this picture the one on the left is for the right side and the curved area points to the back of the bike.
The hole under the t in coated attaches to the swingarm on the back side lower shock mount. The "foot" at the top of the pic rests on top of the swingarm and the shock bolts into the other hole.
FYI, no clearance problems with the bags, which are the type that are curved in the back to allow shock clearance. Only bitch was getting the original lower bolts out. You either have to drop the rear wheel or cut them off on this particular model - not enough clearance to push them through. They hit the sprocket on the left and the disc on the right.
I installed my blocks, lowered the seat about 1". I followed the instructions... on my 2001 FXD you do have to cut both rear lower shock bolts to remove...I used a roto ( keep turning the bolt as you cut to prevent the sparks from hitting the frame or bike!!) Also, when lifting the bike- after install, the bike sits lower so make sure your bike is in gear and place 2x4 under rear tire so there's enough room to get your lift out!!

I installed the Tamarack MW 1" lowering blocks nad def love the look. My camera batery is dead and can't find the charger so I'll post pics eventually. The ride honestly seems to be better as far as cornering and such. As for lifting there are no problems and as for cutting any mount bolts or anything...I had no problems whatsoever.
Tamarac Machine works, 1.75" lowering blocks, no problems. Went from MI to CA and back in 11 days last summer without a hitch. Here's the best pic I have... It's on the lift, and I have the rear shock disconnected from it for other work...
Thanks everyone for the pictures. Its like the first 2 pages of this was just everyone thinking I was nuts, then all of a sudden I got a whole bunch of pictures. Everyone confirmed how I thought how the other brand blocks installed. But I do see how the bolt being tight enough can prevent them from pivoting on the Dyna. The blocks I had in the past still had a rubber bushing on the swing arm which allowed the bracket to pivot when the bike was jacked up.
I still havent gotten any pics of the ness blocks installed, but I guess thats no big deal since I bought them so I'll find out either way when I get home. I emailed a friend of mine who lives in Texas and asked if he can send me a close up of one of his ness blocks installed.
Anybody know if these blocks will interfere with saddlebags? I'm thinking either the HD bags or US Saddlebags. I had the US Saddlebags on my Sportster and the plastic molding on the inside was a pretty tight fit to the shocks.
