I`m working on my winter mods now, I have an 06 Street Bob it has fowards on it and now i`m changing my primary cover, I`m gonna cut the mid controls shaft (learned from this great forum) but was wondering if any fluid will come out the hole that is left in the inner primary, or am i worring about nothing,thanks for any input (I`ve never gone into the primary before on any bike).

There is a little round gasket about the size of a quarter that sticks on the inner primary shifter passage. When you bolt the two halves together it seals that shifter passage so no oil leaks out. You will be OK.
