Question Calling all Fat Bob Owners

I'm having trouble justifying the price difference between the Fat Bob and a Super Glide Custom. I really like the Fat Bob looks with the low fat tires, but I like the chrome on the Super Glide.
Now the question; as far as ride and handling, how do you percieve the difference between the two? Lower, more stable, smoother, ride, etc? I'll ride the two on a demo but until you put a few days on a bike, I'm not sure you get the full experience. Also, I think I might be more comfortable with mid controls, but that's the beauty of HD, the personalization factor is always there.
Thanks for your thoughts.

The SG is a laid back riding position, the FatBob is a lean into the wind style. So if your more comfortable laid back, the SG would be more comfortable, leaning into the wind, the FatBob. The FatBob's steeper steering rake and smaller fatter tires makes it a bit more nimble. I think its seat is a bit lower, uses 12 inch shocks. I don't think the FatBob is available from the factory with mids anymore. But the SG and FarBob are 95% the same bike. They both feel like a Harley.

If you want a bike to ride get the FB.
If you want a bike to look at get the SGC.

I was making the same decision in April 2008. I thought the SGC had the classic motorcycle look' but the 130mm front tire & dual front brakes with 8 pistons of clamping force on the Fat Bob kept drawing my attention away from the Supper Glide Custom.

That was 26,000 miles ago. I'm glad I got the FB... I like to ride. I understand the cost difference every time I do.

I went to the dealer last September after riding a friends fat bob cvo. Went in to look at a super glide custom but they didn't have any. They had the fat bob which I think looks great and also rides the same. I bought it and have put about 850 miles on it the two months I could ride before putting it away for the winter. I like how full the bike feels and the fat tires which I think make for a more comfortable ride. Glad I went with it. I test drove a low rider while I was at the dealer more chrome, more laid back, but it just wasn't the feel and ride I was looking for. Good luck and enjoy whatever you end up getting.

I have not ridden a SG but I think the reason the FB may handle so much better is the larger tires, maybe the rake angle, and the dual front disc brakes are AWESOME.

Default SGC and FB

I dont know fellas, The SGC looks clean and savvy, but i dont see it as Day to day ride, granted you can do alot to a bike to change it up. but in the end, the over all posture and sit of the bike matter. Hands Down FatBob has it down for the day in and out ride. Even for long distances.

Rode both before buying my FB. The SG was comfortable but I definitely felt like I was more "in" the bike with the FB and the handling/cornering is MUCH better.

I know Im partial, because I own one. But, the FB is probably the best all-around bike in the Harley line.

I have a 2010 Fat Bob and it is everything I dreamed and more. I havn't driven my truck since last week it's just that much fun to ride. The handling is better than the SG by quite a bit.
