Thumbs up Which FXDF should I buy??

Good Evening. Thanks in advance to anyone that can share their thoughts on my dilemma. I just sold my XLH883 & am buying a FXDF in 2 weeks. I have 2 choices that are essentially the same price out the door.

1) 2010 FXDF Stock, Denim Black
2) 2009 FXDF Stock, Special Paint (Orange & Black)

Bikes are essentially the same but the latter has a $2500 paint job which should offset any future resale. Insurance cost is the same. I am on the fence here & this is my 1st new bike so I am hoping for some feedback.

Which would you choose??

Good riding!!

I'ld get whichever one speaks to you. Pretty much a toss up except for color.(assuming the '09 is a new bike)

My 2009 FXDF Black Denim is my first Harley, and I have no regrets. I like the looks of the Denim paint, and so far have not had any issues with it. If I had to do it over, I wouldn't change a thing.

If you go to a site like Vivid Dragon, you can choose a killer paint job for the bike if you get tired of it later. Why pay a premium for a custom paint job up front, when after you live with the bike a while, you might choose something different? Besides, you may never get tired of the Black Denim ... it's a great canvass to customize.

Here's my take on it not that it matters, but you asked.

I'd figure the paint job won't be worth a dime on resale. Paint is in the eye of the beholder. So when it comes time to sell, if you hit the right buyer lucky you and buyer too.

That said. If you love the paint go for the 09.

But...If the paint is just OK in your mind, I'd go with the 010. A couple reasons, when I buy something new I want it new. 2009 is last year. If it comes time to sell, the 010 will look like a year newer than the 09.

The way I see it. Paint is easy. Have it done the way you want it. But like I said if the 09 is "The one" go for it. You will love it.

Toss up. Ive heard the demin is easy to keep clean, but also its nice to stand out from the crowd. Me personally I would get the orange and black custom paint.

Greetings,

I'd go with the denim paint...Not only is it a year newer, but if you are thinking resale it'd be easier to sell than with the orange/black scheme.

Is the 09 a CVO model? That's the only orange and black Fat Bob paint scheme that I'm aware of. If it's just a stock model with CVO tins, I'd take the newer 2010 model.
