Bought H-D forward controls and there are to far forward for me to reach, damn these short legs. I made some brackets to move them back but went a little to far now I have to remake a little shorter, anybody else do this mod? any pics? thanks for looking
thanks for the help guy's, I've redrilled the brackets and trimmed them a bit, but not sure if i'm going to be real comfortable. Oh-well, may have some forwards forsale...
Well what you might have to do is make up some plates to go on the forward frame tabs and put a second set of holes back aprox 1 inch then mount the forwards to that. Then shorten
brake rod and adjuster side Brake rod is a pain!! I tried this first but could not get comfortable on longer rides I went back and forth for almost 4 years between this and Mids
What I have done now is floor boards with custom brackets and I cannibalized my forwards to make them work. I will try and post some pics today to give you what worked for me
Oh Be careful with forward frame tabs so as you do not cross thread them or you will have to chase them with a Tap
Ok I have some pics attached This is a work in progress Hope These Help

The cheapest and simplest fix, IMO, is to make some adapter plates as per the thread referenced by Gutter Man, moving your pegs and controls back 1" to 2", and then, if you want more rearward foot support, replace the pegs with mini floorboards.
