Nothin wrong with messin around but doing it where there is even the remote possibility of something unplanned happening is definitely a bad idea. Stick to back, back roads.
since the other day the original poster wrote these words of wisdom I'll bet a ton of HD riders went out and bought a basket full of hop up kit junk in an attempt to make their already substantial bikes even more dangerous and even more powerful. Oh well.

pump the brakes, speed racer.
upgrading the motor on your bike to make it more powerful has absolutely f*ck all to do with riding dangerously/poorly.
where in the OP's admission of guilt does it say his motor was built up?
i'll bet you haven't made one performance-minded upgrade to your bike since bringing it home.
figure out which end is your *** and which is your mouth and speak out of the right one.
Well all I can say to the OP is that there is no rip coming from me as I have done way worse. In fact it is good that you scared the sh*t out of yourself and all without any injury or property damage....so all is good.
Back in my 20's I was one real complete f **ked up stupid jerkoff on a motorcycle....now today years later... I am only a jerkoff...
I'm glad I read this. I'll no doubt think of it next time I'm itchin' at a red light, looking down a supposedly-empty stretch of road. Glad you're alright.
There's been plenty of times where the extra power has gotten me OUT of trouble. Riding safely and defensively sometimes requires a burst of speed and I'd rather have it at my disposal than not.

You're right! To save myself I traded in my Wide Glide for this 250 Virago!
