FXDF 2009 Starting Problems !!! Please Help !!!

Hello My Brothers !!! I need your help again !!

I went to start my monster... which I havent for a month and a bit !! So Ignition on, run..... the sound of the fuel pump was a bit weird.... then Start... a big Starting sound and then Cling, Cling, Cling... and the lights and instruments were flickering... ??? Did it again ..ignition on, run fuel pump sound.. not as loud as usual ??? then start... Cling, Cling, Cling... and flickering lights... checked the spur-plugs.. they were fine !!! I think the sound comes from the left side of the engine .. its like hiting 2 pans together ??.. Cling, Cling, Cling..?? my last thought was maybe the Battery was a bit discharged .. so I have put it to charge.. I will see in the Morning !!!!

Any Ideas from you my Brothers ??? I'm so

I do not know what to do..

Please help me out !!!

It sounds like maybe your battery is low, did you check the volts? With lights flickering is also another indication of a low battery or even a loose connection (ground or positive cables, OR EVEN GROUND TO FRAME). After a good charging cycle (charge and cooling time) then you may want to check volts again before you go and put it back in the bike. Then you can check battery voltage while cranking over engine (might need a buddy to help).

I'm thinking maybe a loose connection or low battery.

I Hope so Shimmon.... I will check tomorrow !!! Thanks for letting me know !!! I never had a problem before ..she always starts with no problem !!! and the cliking sound ?? Battery ??? the lights are bright and horn working and indicators a swell.. No problem !!! Do you think if I push her.. is she going to start ?? I wont be able to sleep tonight...

The clinging sound could be the sound of the starter relay closing but there's not enough voltage for the starter jackshaft to engage and turn over the motor. I'd try it after a charging and you should be fine.

Get one of these and wire in the pigtail. It is the same one as the HD one.
