Default Thanks SC

I have been hating the performance of my 88 incher. So I believe that its time for the andrews cams and a 95 incher kit. That should wake her up a little bit. This will be my first top end on a HD engine. I have already done pipes,AC,Fuel Pak, and man this thing needs more. good thread. I have had experience with building other engines and have always stayed away from trying to get those extra few Hp numbers gained by advancing the timing.(ignition timing) Timing advance makes good numbers initially but falls off when engine gets hotter as detonation starts to set in when pistons get cherry. So what I am getting at is that I have the Fuel pak which is basically just like jetting a carb. I spoke to Vance and Hines and got the low down on tuning with this. Say for example I am having a lean issue at a given throttle position, all I have to do is look at the monitor and mimic that throttle position and add fuel in that area. that simple. yes it will not alter timing and will not net max hp numbers due to this, but I have faith in the stock timing maps,as I want long term durability anyway. These bikes will always pop on decel, I just tune so that it doesnt pop on accelleration and doesnt surge. I miss my carb!! So much less BS to deal with.
