Well I'll chime in for going with the TTS. Vic I am no where near your level of wrenching, but I have no problem with using the Mastertune. It also seems to me that with as much as you do yourself, you'd be most happy with a system that you can change yourself rather than relying on a tuner or finding just the right download or whatever. Don't like something or want to experiment? Go flash the bike and try it out. Don't like it? Reflash it. You're in control.

With the prices of tuning services I have been receiving lately, don't think I haven't contemplated that same idea. And you're right, I don't like relying on anyone for my bike work. I don't know crap, believe me but I can read a manual and turn a wrench.

Several guys from the forum were very helpful too.

It doesn't help that other than Tman (going on his rep) I don't have an option in my area that gives me that warm-fuzzy feeling of confidence.

Default tuner

victory drive v-twin............ indianapolis indiana.... is who did my bike... purchased my pc5 from fuel moto and ran their canned map for about 1 1/2 months.... the tuner gained 7 horse and 3 ft-lbs of torque but power wasnt my concern as much as a/f ratio.... got the a/f from about 10.5-1 to about 13.8-1 across the range... of course im always skeptical of gains like that but the bike does run well now... wasnt able to watch them tune the bike as i was making the money at work to pay them...lol... but $250 seems like a good deal.....and the results are good... seems my experience has been good compared to some... btw they will let you sit and watch as they tune your bike i just had to work..........................tim

Default Wood TW6 Dyno

Sorry for such a delay in posting this. I totally forgot about this thread.

I had my bike tuned last week at Hemrick Performance just outside of Winston-Salem, NC. He charged a fair, flat fee. I think Clark @ HemrickPerf. did a good job and I'd recommend him if you're interested.

So, my final numbers with just a simple cam swap.

Baseline (6/2009): ~72hp / Torque unknown.

Dyno (6/2010): 84hp / 91tq.

I definitely appreciate all the advise and suggestions for this mod. I definitely used my service manual during this process for torque sequences and values.

I'm also glad I didn't use the 4* advance gear. It would have pushed the power farther to the right (read: higher rpm before it came on).

Vic

Glad you were able to get your bike tuned ... if you think about how anemic these bikes roll off the showroom floor, those numbers are a great improvement for relatively little incremental modification (T-header, Wimmer intake (?), Woods cam and PCIII(?)) ...

Seems of the stuff I've done to date (essentially the same, except have yet to install cam) has made a nice noticeable improvement ... and I expect to squeeze a little more when I get the cam in the cam chest ....

Plan to do heads and possibly big bore in another year ....

Pretty nice looking curves ... and looks like it puts some useable torque and power in your hands ... bet you're pumped ...!

Congrats!

Advancing moves the power to the left so it comes on sooner, about 3 to 400 R's.

Thanks Chop. Yeah, the bike rides good now. The cost vs. increase in power is relatively cheap. $200 cams (used) + $50-$75 parts + $250 tune.

Just a note...I was using the bigboyz cam comparator and saw that the Andrews 37 and Wood 6 cam are very close to each other.

I'm also contemplating a rocker change to 1.725s. Would change the lift of the 6 cam from .510 to .541. I'm just not sure if that will equal more or less power. Some research is in order.

Are you sure? Don (thedonthere) mentioned to me it would move the powerband to the right in the rpm range.

Also, since I notice your sig line mentions different rockers to increase the lift. Did that help or hurt your overall power?

http://www.harley-riders-guide.com/h...dson-cams.html It's in here. Lift is good all through the range. When I did the rockers I also had my heads ported and a .030 head gasket. I felt a big difference in power +17hp on the dyno but when I pulled my pipes for the Supermeg I saw an exhaust gasket that was damaged on install so it should have been a little more. I've been playing with the Supermeg disc's and the open cap, I'm at 14 open now. I also advanced the T-Max timing in the lower R's, it was kinda weak. I'm done for now and it feels good.
