Default Second Thoughts On Sissy Bar?

Has anyone had second thoughts on their sissy bar choice? I just got the low, and I feel like it's a bit too high for me and the girlfriend likes the 'low' but doesn't care either way. I'm thinking of buying or trading for a medium low (1.5 - 2 inches shorter)... any opinions?

I had a hard time deciding which one to order.

Mine is just going to be for luggage only so I went with the tall but think it maybe taller than I need.

Mine is for luggage, too - thats my struggle. Usually smaller luggage though.

Well if I just need a small bag, I just use my drivers backrest. So will only use the sissy bar when taking trips. So will have my big bag with a roll bag on top of it and a small roll bag on my drivers backrest.

I have the med-low and it's still fairly tall - should be tall enough to handle most bike luggage designed to slide over the sissy bar. My wife is short but it fits her just right. If she doesn't care and you are just concerned with looks, I'd get the really low one because I think it looks better on a dyna. My only regret when I first got my bike was getting rigid sideplates and then I was stuck with a sissy bar all the time. I thought about getting the real low upright and pad and just swap it out for the med-low when the wife wasn't riding but the uprights are not exactly quick-detach. So, I bit the bullet and went and got all of the detachable stuff and replaced it. I sold my rigids and recouped a few bucks but I still lost money on that deal.

Really old pix and still had rigid sideplates but here are some pix of my bike with the med-low uprights. Yes, it's the same bike that is in sig below LOL.

So I think I want the med-low. Now I need to find someone to trade my low for their medium low. Maybe someone out there wants some more back support???

I use mine for luggage going on trips also. When I ride alone I place my rally pack on the two up positon and use the rally pack as a back rest. Works pretty good for long trips. A Shorter bar might not work as well. Depends on how you want to use the sissy bar.

I have the medium low as well and I hate the way it looks. My goal was to create a comfortable two up cruiser suitable for a day trip or maybe a weekend and I succeeded but I CAN'T STAND THE WAY IT LOOKS.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.I think I'm going to loose the back rest and the big comfy seat and maybe keep the saddle bags. The signature pic is closer to my style.

This is just my opinion but I think others share it as well - on a dyna, there are 4 things that are very practical but usually kill the looks of the bike, especially if you have the bike setup in a sort of solo, barhopper type bike - and those are a touring type seat, saddle bags, practical sissy bar, or big *** windshield. When you need them, you need them, but they just usually won't compliment the bike's looks.
