Default Hesitating - which saddlebag size ? - UPDATED

EDIT : Just for anyone searching and hoping to find an answer, I finally went with Saddlemen saddlebags, their Express Cruis'n Pouch Saddlebags Jumbo model. It's size is 17.5" L x 10.5" D x 6" W. Capacity: 2,200 cubic inches :

http://www.saddlemen.com/store/index...oducts_id=5161

This is what it looks like with Easy bracket mounted on the bike :

So "flawless" fit.

Original post follows :

I'm hesitating on the size of saddlebags to order for my '10 Street Bob. The rear turn signals are relocated and I'm getting easy brackets for mounting them.

Basically, it's between these two :

Dimensions: 16″ W x 11″ H x 6-1/2″ D
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/830-...91&results=100

Dimensions: 14″ W x 12″ H x 5-1/2″ D
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/830-...91&results=100

I'd much prefer the first one, because obviously they hold more stuff. However, I'm afraid that even with the rear turn signals relocated, they might be too big of a fit between the shocks and turn signals.

The second ones are a nice compromise, but they are higher than the first, which poses another fitment problem, rubbing on the belt guard or swing arm.

Anyone with Willie & Max saddlebags in these sizes on their Dynas can help reassure me about fitment ?

I ran Willie and Max bags for a while. They are decent bags, but they are by no means "top shelf" bags. They are OK, but a tad flimsy IMHO. I say get the bigger ones if your heart is set on Willie and Max. I think either set would fit your bike fine. I was able to get even larger than what you posted on my bike and my set weren't even the slant bags. And though my bike was a Shovel, it was still an exposed shock bike with very similar dimensions to a Dyna.

I have these with the Harley rear signal relocation kit & they fit fine. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/ZZ83...ll&results=100

Here's a couple of crappy cell pics. I like my willie & max bags but probably because I got them for a song on ebay. I thought about going with detachable hardware like barebacks but they push the bags out even farther than the regular hard mount hardware. Plus it only takes 10 minutes to switch them out. Hope this helps a little.

Looking at the pictures on Dennis Kirk's website, it does seem like the bags aren't so top notch after all, like pointed out by bikerlaw :

The plastic innertub seems rather flimsy. Anyone have other types of bags in the same dimension and price range that would be a better fit to Easy brackets ?

What about these guys from Saddlemen :

I had to make a turnsignal bracket for my softail just to accomodate the bags; I made it out of Stainless steel which turned out pretty good.

As far as bags go I went with Tek leather bags,http://www.edgeleather.com/Edge-Prod...Model-101.html best bang for the buck.
These would work well for you, but they have other styles too. They have quick release too. Off and on in 30 seconds. Good luck.

Do some measuring and make some phone calls.

I have HD bags that are about the size of the larger ones you mention, but they have notches for the turn signals. If you can't see for yourself on a friends bike I would advise measuring and calling JP or whoever's bags you are thinking about. I bought some for my wifes bike at Leatherneckjims. They sell ez brackets too. You can call them with all your questions as well.
