Default Using Pinch Bolts for turn signal mount

How recessed are your pinch bolts? On my 08 Street Bob, they are set in a good 3/8" at least, and I'm worried about trying to tighten that up againt the swivel plate. My thoughts are it'll just chew the plate and take it into the recess. Or the pinch won't be as good. Thoughts, anyone? Thanks

T.J.

Kevin,
I can't wrap my head around that. Could you shoot some pictures this way to help? Thanks.

The only way it would depress into the recess is if you use a bolt with a head smaller than the recess hole diameter. If you are worried about that just add a flat washer.

you can see on the left side you simply use your stock mount..open up the hole..bolt it on and your done.On the right side i took the stock mount and welded the swivel to flat stock..basiclly to match the other side...simple and easy...

Kevin, thanks. As I was riding into work tonight, I realized what you meant by spacer. I could just put a sleeve around the shoulder of the bolt and use the otuside or the tree as the contact point of the head. Again, big help guys. Thanks.

J and P sells a nice piece/kit that the turn signal mounts to and then replaces the existing pinch bolt. Makes a nice clean look on my 07 Street Bob. I did put a washer/spacer in to fill a little bit but otherwise they work great.
