Is anyone running with Forward controls as well as Mid mounted pegs ?
Reasons to do it:
1. Somewhere else to put your feet on long rides
2. Somewhere else for taller passengers to put their feet
Reasons not to do it:
1. Bike would have 6 footpegs (No bid deal , as those with mids and highway pegs have too).
2. Mid pegs get in the way when parking etc. if they can't be folded up.
The mids would be folded up for most of the time (I assume they can be folded up and stay up ?)
Its the only way to go...
1 Feet forwards
2 Feet on mids
3 And in my case I can put my heels on the mids and the ball of my boots on the boards,, and I'm only a size 9
I reinstalled my mid pegs and seldom use them, but when I do it's a life saver. On a long haul the option of an alternate position means all the difference in the world..
I think I'm going to try it the other way. I want to get Hiway pegs mounted where the forward controls mount. It's cheaper and should offer the same flexibility. I hope...any other ideas on that?
My thinking is that sometimes you only have a split second to react to save your ***. I don't want to have to move from highway pegs back to the mid mount to apply brakes or down shift.

Another guy in my HOG chapter has been checking out my forwards since I joined. He wasn't sure if he wanted them or not. Instead, he had highway pegs. Last time I talked with him, he told me that he was definately going with the forwards after in incident where he had to make an emergency slow down/stop. He said that he had gotten on the front brake fast & once applied he was not able to get his feet back to use the rear brake or down shift. He now feels that it's as much of a safety issue as a comfort/cool thing.
I had thought about trying having the mid pegs with the forward controls, but the dealer told me that there wasn't room for the mid's with the linkages for the forwards. I never even checked it out after that. Are you guys saying that the dealer informed me wrong? They woouldn't do that would they?[sm=noooo.gif][sm=loser.gif]
