Other than the looks....depends on your size. I find the apes on my dyna are much more comfortable than the drag bar on my sportster, but I am short.
In terms of looks, that is up to you

This is my own opinion, but if you run apes, they HAVE to be tilted slightly forward. At the very least, they must follow the line of the forks, but NEVER, ever must you pull them back!! I'm sorry, but the whole bad-*** attitude of apes just seems to diminish when they are tilted backwards!
I'm short also at 5'8" and I bought the Harley Reach seat to push me forward an inch...of course now I need forward controls because the mids are a little uncomfortable.
This allowed me to push them apes up, but eventually I have switched them to a drag style bar.
In all actuality, with the Z-bars and Duece risers, the height is not that much lower than the stock Street Bob apes...but the look is much different.
I bought the Bob because I do like apes, but for a long time I've admired the Harleys with the drag bars and had always wanted one...now I have one.

APES, i was once a drag bar fan but since the bob i am a convert, i am 6-2 and have just got the 16 inch gimp hangers. I am a bit suprised that i have gone taller but i can now push the bars forward more and is still very comfortable and looks great. APES APES APES
