I ride a 09 street bob with security. With my security fob on the ring with my key the key is bending alot due to the wind whipping and the weight of the fob. The dealer says they have yet to hear of that, has anyone else experienced that??
Mine bends occasionally, the plastic top of the key bends, I think its when the wind blows the fob and it stays up which causes the key to bend when turning, I think it might be the rigid brake line. That's why I'm doing the key relocation mod to my 07 bob sometime soon. Although I've had the parts for a year now and just never get around to it.
i use one of the quick detach style rings and keep the fob etc in my pocket, i'm surprised the fob alone is enough to bend it though
The first time I went on the freeway, I thought the fob was going to beat itself to death, so I got one of the quick detach key chains and the fob goes in my pocket. What I do find, is that the fork lock position becomes difficult if not impossible to achieve with time. My local dealer said that this is all too common with the Street Bobs. One would think that the MoCo would address the problem.
Mad, Cow and gowitz - will you guys pack it in wth the sig pics please, it's taking me ages to get down to anyone else's posts. Takes a particualrly long time to go past Cow's - kinda hypnotic that one
I'm curious about something.
why would you need security on a dyna?
you need the key no matter what. there is no chance of
forgetting to lock the ignition like on a s/t or touring bike?

seems like a waste of $400 at time of sale.
