I'm curious about something.
why would you need security on a dyna?
you need the key no matter what. there is no chance of
forgetting to lock the ignition like on a s/t or touring bike?
seems like a waste of $400 at time of sale.
Not all Dynas. Hell I don't even know where my key is. I haven't used it in years.
derv, what is your connection speed? You sig pic looks the same size on my computer as cows, and bigger then the other ones.
Ah yes! - Sorry, I was being humorous. I keep forgetting you fellas have quite a different sense of humour to us Brits! Just for the record - definitely keep the avitars, they're great.............even if they do take me ages to get past to read the other posts!
Quite a while ago I read that someone here put velcro on the fob and where the fob hits the frame. If I did that I'd put the hook side on the frame and the soft part on the fob.
That would be me. I agree the soft part should go on the FOB. I felt the harder "hook" side would pick up too much pocket lint when it was in my pocket.
Back to the OP.. got a bent key too..not from the fob (even tho' its resilient should'nt be with the key for obvious reasons) flying around in the wind , but from the rigid metal brake line that runs from the top yolk to the bottom yolk of the tripletrees..
So those of you who want to be in the exclusive *Bent Key Club* here's how too
Stick key in ignition, turn to start and then reverse or forwards your Dyna full right rudder out of the garage or wherever you may be parked..the solid brake pipe bends the key...try it then join the BKC lol
I just put a quick release key ring on the fob and key so now the only thing hanging in the ignition is the key and a ring and the fob is in my pocket, problem solved.
I guess I may have overlooked this but when did move the ignition on the dynas to the front sportster-style? My Superglide is an '05 and it is still behind the battery box which seems like a much better place for it.
