Hi folks, I have an 03 lowrider with Vance/Hines straight shots. I just put in a new set of baffles and they are just a little to loud for me. Has anybody tried putting any packing around those things before they installed them? Any suggestions?
If I can find a stock set, I may just sell these and go back..
Thanks, in advance...

Our Quiet Baffle logo designates an exhaust system compatible with our optional quiet baffles. Baffles are used to reduce the sound levels of exhaust and also aid in the build up of back pressure as shown in the illustration. Every system we manufacture is complete with standard baffles that our engineers design to match the engine and exhaust for the best possible performance and sound quality. Now we also offer quiet baffles for our most popular systems, which provide a reduction of 2-3 dBs of sound volume.
I will have to call them up again, as I asked and they said that all they had for my bike was the one style. "Now we also offer quiet baffles for our most popular systems, which provide a reduction of 2-3 dBs of sound volume." may just be for other than me thanks for pointing that out..
Just my two cents worth. Had a set of Python long shots. Way Loud. Problem was I come into my neighborhood at 12AM from work. Trying to be a good neighbor I went to the quite baffles. All they were was a waste of money for me. Most people do not realize the stock mufflers shares a crossover which uses both mufflers for each cylinder howbeit the rear does a 90 to get to the front but with 2 baffles per muffler still gives good bottom in and midrange power. My opinion is the open exhaust only favors top end that I never use and kill engine brake effect. The quite baffles simple made the exhaust into one crude baffle with some fiberglass wrapping on the out side of the tube that slips in. It replaced a strange looking open spiral wound baffle. Guess the spiral is suppose to spin the exhaust to slow it down. The exhaust is quieter with the spiral then straight open and quieter more so with the quite baffles but still loud. Sorry about long wind. Went out in garage to tinker with bike but it was too hot. It interesting that you cannot get quite baffles. The set I got came from Vance and Hines and were listed for my Pythons. They fit well After posting this I am sure I will have someone else hot so this is what works for me, just my opinion and if others want loud exhaust its OK with me. I live near a Air Force base and when the F22 Raptors fly over I salute and say POUR IT ON

Be sure you understand 2-3 dBS. its actuall a lot Might want to look it up in Wkipeda. Ask them how many dBS above stock your pipes are with the present baffles and post it here.
I believe its the StraightShot HS, its the full exhaust, not just the slip ons. I also have some baloney cut tips on it, which I have pointed down instead of out.
Based on this, I am now looking for a complete stock header, I will start looking on CL to see what they have available. Some times people give them a way just to get them out of the garage. Hint hint..
