I am getting ready to purchase saddlebags, and was considering using Easy Brackets.
I won't waste the money, now. I am tired of fixing other peoples expensive crap.

Ghost Brackets are made the same way and they rattle, too. I drilled and tapped a hole in the brackets over the front docking spool for a 1/4-20 screw. Snug up the screw against the spools and the rattlewasgone.

 

Swell. I just got the shipping notice and tracking # on my new Easy Bracket purchase. Will hope for the best. If they rattle, I'll try using rubber or fiber washers. Will know this weekend.

 

This is going to sound even worse but it works. I cut out a Coke 12 pack box to make 4 shims that I place inbetween the brackets and the mounts to make a snug fit. Cut them small enough so that they are not noticeable. Need new ones after I take bags off. But now that weather is cooling off I need the bags 24/7. Have a coke and a smile! LOL!

I have dealt with Dave at EB and he seems like a stand up guy. I would give it a try and see if it helps the rattle problem.

 

I wrap a piece of electrical tape over the spool, slip on the brackets and the rattle is gone.
