on my street fighter i wired a fan on the radiator so that i could flip it on and off to help cool it down if we where really hitting the twisties hard was crazy easy! just look at some sport bike fans they come in all sizes, i have also used computer fans to cool rectifiers and interal electircs in race bikes but never had them exposed to the elements... (great way to cool an amp that you have in a car or bike stashed away)
Great info guys and thanks for the pics. Will decide on which model HD or Jagg or Lockhart ( which model Lockhart?) and pics as soon as its mounted. Thanks again for the info.
Check out the discontinued Harley Davidson oil cooler kit that was made by Jagg for Harley Davidson. You can still find brand new kits on eBay for $125 to $150. More info below, and here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/showt...eferrerid=9012
I like it alot on your bike and I saw it on ebay but was reluctant to order it; just cause I've never bought anything on ebay and worry about getting the actual product shown and if I have a problem with it can I return it and so forth. Also wasn't absolutely sure everyting was there and if it would fit a 2010. It a conundrum!
Just installed the HD Premium Oil Cooler kit on my bike on Wednesday. Rode 600 miles over the last two days mostly at highway speeds and it seemed to be a noticeable difference in the heat coming off the bike at those speeds. Also got stuck in some heavy traffic and it obviously did not do much good then, but once moving, the heat dissipated pretty quickly. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
I have the HD cooler didn't know it was discountinued. Works well and uses the thermostat system only kicks in at 180 degree's, no problem in the summer in Texas just start it and it goes to 180!!!!. The winter it allows the bike to warm properly.
The new H-D coolers have a little more restriction than the Jagg. They're also made in china....
The Chinese will make anything you want. If you want cheap, throw-away junk, they'll make it for you. If you want high quality, top-of-the-line, they can do that too.
Without getting too involved and boring the living hell out of everybody, the secret to the success of the Chinese is much less about labor costs and more about the super hi-tech, top notch, cutting edge factories and machines they use.
While it's GD near impossible to get past the EPA and Unions in this Country in order to build new factories, the Chinese just simply do it. Meanwhile, we're stuck in the Stone Age with 70 year old factories, a very unsympathetic EPA and Unions that will block anything they think might eliminate a job.
