any of the dyna owners running a 2" open primary? I did a search and found a few posts talking about the pros/cons. I'm good with all of that, just wanted to see if anyone bit the bullet and dropped the 1500-2500 for one of the new systems and how they like it.
I don't remember seeing anybody in here displaying one but could be wrong. I'd remember if I'd seen one; they're cool as hell. It's on my list, but it's a loooong list.
Forum member DaytonaPS (from Australia) has an 08 FXDF that he bought with an open belt drive primary ... he was looking to get rid of it in favor of stock chain drive or enclosed belt drive like I am sporting ....
He reported a lack of ground clearance in corners ....
I spent my dough on upgrading my primary internals to Screamin Eagle Compensator/HD Chain Tensioner/ Baker IPB/ and Screamin Eagle clutch spring.
I am not a believer in belt drives. Honestly I am gonna ditch the belt for a chain on my final drive next time I get some extra cash.
The belt drives look cool and all, but its hard to find one that mid controls work with anyway. I run mids.
It is on my TO-DO list, the only thing stopping me is the $$$. I want the BDL 3" open primary set up, A springer front end, Ported heads, Andrews 54H cam, Air ride shocks, the list is almost endless
