Your in the same boat as I am. You can't fit anything wider than a 160 between the fender. That is the only real problem. Plenty of of room for a 180 within the swing arm. you may need a narrower belt. I think you could get away with adding a spacer behind the rear pulley. Just that dang fender width.

now is it the fender? Or the actual strut width? Fender would be easy swap, strut... now that's a bit more involved. (but do-able)

Its the fender and the struts. Just for example, I'm running an 18x140mm metzeler = 5.512" wide. The minimum gap I have between the tire and the fender is just over .500". For a 180mm = 7.087" you would need at least .800" and that would be extremely tight. Seriously when he tire heated and expanded it would rub. lol I have read that a 160mm will work and if you do the math, it should. One more thing, I also have removed my sissy bar, so when I bolted the fender back to the struts it spread the fender open some. So if you have the sissy bar that mounts between the strut and fender then it would be even narrower.
I am running a 160/70/17 metzler on a 4.5"wide Deuce wheel. It fit right on with out any mods!after that tire is shot I plan to go with a 170/60/17 it should fit,but thats going to be the Max without mods.I have pic's of the install with some spec's in my albums have a look it may help.
