It's a non adhesive rubber electrical tape that is on my bars. It doesn't stick to anything, but itself. I put it on the bars so my Roll Bag doesn't scratch the powder coat. I was going to swap my apes out tonight, but I got lazy. When you take the stuff off there are no scratches, marks or residue on the bars. It's off when I'm not sporting the roll bag, and barely noticeable with the bag on.

I believe the misconception is on your end, sir. True...earlier models of the Street Bob did indeed come stock with 10" bars. The '09 and '10 models...of which is the model I was speaking of...have 12" bars. The measurements are as follows from Flanders website: 2009-10 FXDB, 12" rise, 34 1/4" width and 10" pullback.

Well considering I have an 09 and my stock apes are 10's maybe 10.5's. here's Harley's chart to show how to measure the rise on handlebars, http://www.harley-davidson.com/pna/p...bmLocale=en_US

I suppose. I just measured mine this morning just to be sure I wasn't speaking out of my ***...they're 12's.

Mine was built in the KC plant; I guess I can blame it on those damn Jayhawks!

That's interesting I wasn't aware they had changed - I have an 08 and they are 10" measured from the mid-point of the bottom bar to the mid-point of the bar at the highest point.

Here are the overall measurements for the 08 SB bars:

DIA: 1"
HT: 10"
Width: 34 1/4"
Pullback: 10"
Centre: 8"

Just for interst sake - I have the 2" risers (making them 12" overall) and this was added without any cable or wiring extensions and it appears that there is still a fair bit of slack left; I'm thinking I could go another inch or two without much problem.

Ok..I have an 07 Sb with original bars and a set of 09 bars hanging in the garage..by my measurements as per pic attached both are exactly the same( 10") hight apart from the later ones are pre drilled for internal wires.
