Hi,
Ive fitted V & H BSS to my 2010 WG and have a question regarding the flange nuts. I tighten and torque as in the workshop manual, retorque after cooldown from the first ride.
But the nuts still seem to slacken slightly over time. Do I need to put threadlock on when refitting these nuts ? if so what colour would be suitable ?
Thanks,
Jeff.
No thread locker! Just keep snugging them up. They'll eventually stay put. Otherwise you could end up snapping a stud at the head. Trust me its not a fun thing to deal with.
I don't think you have to keep snugging them. When you first install new hedder gaskets they crush a little. go for a ride and heat them up they expand. cool down the first time ,snug them up. after that the expansion keeps them tight when your riding.
