Default Jack for 06 Wide Glide

HELP Has anyone found a jack that will work on a 06 Wide Glide? Tried a Sears yellow one (hits the oil pan) Tried a Kobalt from Lowes (The span is still not wide enought to clear underneath) will work on 05 Dyna and older but not 06 Wide Glide Thanks for any help.

i have a '06 wg also. i use the aluminum one from sears, with the HD adaptor kit for the late WGs. works like a dream. without the HD adaptors (they are just some poly blocks that temporarily attach to the frame of the bike) the jack hits the trans pan as you mentioned.

What ever one you use, HD, Sears, or brand X, you will need to purchass the dyna adapter kit, because of the oil pan. I have the HD with the kit and it works great.

I have purchased a jack from a company called Northern Hydraulics. If you canget to it go to the ATV section in the catalog or go to their web sight, I thinks it's www.northenhydraulics.com.

I bought the cheaper Sears Red color Jack on sale for $69.99. I used three hock pucks for adapters, they work just fine and keep the bike steady on the jack. I learned this trick while working on my corvette as the jack points require adapters and hockey pucks are just fine, just the right stiffness and just the right size and price.

Enjoy,

The Breeze

I bought the J&S jack for my 06 WG and it works fine. You can jack up the bike and roll it around your garage as you need to. In fact I almost rolled my bike into my car. The jack is very well made and works good. Other guys have written about them on this site.

I've been using a Dunwell lift for quite a few years. Only 4" when collapsed. Very sturdy and stable.

The only "adapter" I need for the new bike is a spacer. If you look at the bottom of the frame rails, H-D welded a small tab to the bottom of the right frame rail to protect the oil pan. But they didn't weld one to the left rail. So you have to use a spacer on the left side to compensate. I have some plywood that I use for that.
