Just got it done and had all synthetics put in. Now with that chunk of change spent I can start concentrating on buying more goodies. Forwards, bars, grips ,pegs you guys know, make it mine. Just wish I could make the money as fast as my bike can spend it.

I know how you feel. Every time the bike is in the shop I'm always adding MORE things than just a service!
Well when you get a few extra dollars you should invest in the service manual. I did my first service, the 1K myself and it cost me about $60 for all of the fluids/filter and gaskets. The stealer wanted almost $400. With the money you save you can start making the mods to the bike that you want to. Fluid changes are really easy and all you need is a few basic tool, 3/8 drive socket set and an inch lb torque wrench and a oil filter wrench. Picked up the torque wrench from harbor freight, $20. Get a funnel and a drain pan and you are in.....
bobnehoc -hit the nail on the head!! buy all the stuff u need to service your bike and it pays for itself in the long run...and then you can afford all the other mods you want...i have had my bike since new and it has never been back to a stealer...
Thanks guys for the input. I think I will cash in my rider reward points from th e 1K and get me a manual. I wrenched on cars for years so I guess I should have no problem with the bike.
