the dust caps came off pretty easy...there is a small notch on the back side of the cap/strut, just put a small drift in there and tap it with a hammer....it's mostly press fit, but it looks like there might have been a sealing compound....
you can take both sliders off, but leave one intact (spacers, seals, etc) as a polish blueprint.....
the internal tube that is directly below the top slider cap has very sharp edges on it, be careful when the cap comes off as there is a good amount of spring pressure.....
Also, I did not remove any of the internals, which means do not turn the strut upside down....
Get a piece of 2" pvc pipe to set the seal in the strut
oh yea, the new dust caps had a set screw,
