Simple, you just have to run two wires from the switch back to the wires that were connected to the console switch.

USPS was $ 2.00 something for any thing 8oz or less. ?
You can use crimp butt connectors and I would use the heat shrink type.

I came close to ordering from sites that boasted "free shipping", only to find out they have a "handling fee". He he!
I declined the orders simply because they tricked me.

I'm not sure I follow on that part. There are only two wires. just cut the ones on your old switch about 3" back (from old switch).
Then cut the ones on your new switch about 3" back. Then buy some 18gauge butt crimp couplings (like previously suggested) and a set of wire crimpers if you don't have any (you will always need them) and crimp the old in one end and the new in the other.
If you don't want to fool with heat shrink in that close quarters to the console just buy a squeeze tube of clear silicone and push some into each end of the butt connectors after you have inserted and crimped the joints. It's fairly water proof inside the console anyhow except in a pouring rain.

Used same switch (normally off)WG posted with the rubber boot on the other side and jumped it in my garage remote stuffed next to speedometer. Matches the trip switch pretty good. Also Northern has the shrink tubing 10 pcs 12"LG 1/4 diameter pcs for $2.00. They sent me a $5.00 off coupon. For $1.00 I now have 36 feet of the stuff. Hopefully a life time supply for me but that what I said the last two times.. PS I alway , soldier, tape a couple wraps with black stretch electrical before I shrink and in certain areas rtv the ends of the shrink.

Splicing, soldering and using shrink tubing is the best way to do it; check out this post by Citoriplus: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/2801748-post524.html

Could you post an image of the current situation in order to be able to give you the proper guidelines?

I don't have the switch yet but just need to connect two wires together. Since I don't have access to solder, I will be using crimping boots to connect the wires. THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE HELP! I think I know enough to figure out what I have to do! SO THANKFUL FOR THIS FORUM!

Thanks! This is the process I will use. For future reference, how do you heat heat shrink?

This is what I use, they work great. You can get them at ACE Hardware.
