No way anyone should pay over 10K for a gen1 (88 inch Twin Cam) Dyna. No way, no how. They are everywhere on Craigslist and ebay for way under 10 grand. Dealers are theiving bastiges. Scour the internet and find the one that you absolutely love, with the mods you really want. Then, the price is secondary because your getting the bike you want.

nice bike, if it what you want and what you would of done and miles aint bad then get it. I would try and offer 9,500 maybe 9000 that me though. its a 88 and 5sp and carb.
find out all the specs on that bike, miles, motor work etc.
96" vs. 88" goes out the window if that bike's hopped up to 95"
myself, i prefer a carb to efi.
those bobtail fenders look pretty slick when they're slammed down, which you can do with the air suspension.
if you can get out the door for 10, i'd jump all over that.
lose the sissybar, put on a sleeker 2up seat and ride the wheels off that bitch.
gotta figure, there's 2k in wheels/rotors/pulley, 2k in an open primary, 1k in air suspension, and close to a grand in what appears to be real nice powder work.

If someone is too lazy to shop around, or simply has too much money, they could spend many thousands $ too much.
When I was shopping for my present bike, a local dealer had a nice '99 Dyna w/ only 12,000 miles for $9,000, which he would have sold me for $8,000. I just knew I could get a later bike for that kind of money. A few days later the original owner sold me his '09 Dyna w/ 6600 miles for $9,000--10 years newer! And still under warranty, w/ duplicate original keys & fobs and owners manual. He was only ~20 miles away. I just had to find the right seller (craigslist ad). And be prepared to immediately make the deal (meaning having the money in my account, ready to present a cashiers check), once I eventually found the right bike .
A dealer has to sell @ retail to make money. A private party usually sells @ wholesale or a little more; he may get awful lucky, and sell near retail, but it's not likely in todays buyers market. Bikes that are less than excellent should sell below wholesale. Any schmuck can walk into a dealer & pay retail. Those reliant on a dealer's financing will pay dearly for that service. But those willing to learn the ropes & shop around can get a better bike for their money.
Bro,if you want a Crossbones search until you find the right deal, like someone said, this is the time to buy.Dont be shy about making lowball offers, esp to private owners. The dealers will negoitiate too. Go on a cold snowy or rainy day. Thats how i got my 11 Fatbob for $2500 below msrp. Then when you get the bike you want you can mod it as you like. Good luck!
