I have the 2 " and they sound great..My buddy has the 2.25" and there isnt much of a differance between the two.Was told i didnt have to change anything when installing them even though i was putting on a Stage 1 air cleaner.Ran fine but had a lot of decel popping and ran a bit warm.Installed xieds from nightrider and it definatly helped a lot.Great pipes with a great sound ,Get the xieds or a tuner ..dont waste your time or money with the HD down load dosnt do anything and is a lot more money

I was going to go with slips on my FBob, then realized it wouldn't do much good with the enormous cat in the crossover. All you will gain is sound, if that's all you want, just have a tech punch your baffle, much cheaper.

Lotsa good advice here already, and +1 on how cool the Rush guys are to work with. They answer the phone, will talk to you and are very patient. They even offered to swap my baffles out if I didn't like the ones I bought!

First off, and it's JMO but I don't think internet and Youtube vids are much help. To me they all sound about the same, even Rush's. And opinions are just that, totally subjective. One man's mellow is another man's loud-you know the drill.

Having said that, here's my opinion: if you want pretty loud but not drag pipe crazy loud, go with the 1.75's. They're way loud enough but you can throttle 'em back a bit when you ride by The Man and hardly get a look. But like all good pipes (at least to me) when you get down on 'em, yeah buddy!

Here's my comparison. I also have an '03 Fatboy that has Python slip-ons. I love them but they are loud-real loud. At some combinations of throttle pressure and rpm's I believe they are actually louder than straights, if you can believe that. Anyway, I promised the OL I'd make this one quieter than the Fatboy but personally I didn't want to get it too quiet. These 1.75's do the trick. They sound good even at idle and when cruising but I don't hammer it when she's with me and we're both happy. And they really aren't that much quieter than the Python's.

Oh, and not to start up a crapstorm, after about 30 miles the EFI seems to have learned the pipes (yeah, I know, save it) or in some way adapted and the bike runs perfect.

Good luck with your choice. Whichever you get I think Rush offers good value for your buck.

After about 1000 miles, the 2.0 rush sound nicer, a bit louder, but will just bust the 112dB limit some towns and states enforce. I tried rewrapping them, but they don't sound as good as the original mats. Although the pipe seem top quality, they don't seem to control baffle tolerances that well. My 2.0s slip in and out easily but the 1.5s would not fit, I may have to try grinding them down just a bit.

With certain full face helmets, the 2.0s are loud enough to give you a headache, even with ear plugs. But they do sound so good... especially with the reverb of narrow streets or over passes. Always get complements, even when it measured 112.5 dB at 2000 rpm, They told me it was a good sounding 112.5 and let me go on my way.

I agree with what you say. If i ride with my full face I get a headache. If i run 1/2 helmet it sounds great. But if i get on the high way with my 1/2 helmet it chokes me and basically wants to fly off my head. So i just cant win. I wound up buying a windshield. I am going to try that this season so i can use my 1/2 helmet all the time. I like the sound of my rush slipons with the 2" baffle.

I think mine has a cat (2010 Fat Bob). The Rush baffles definately pull better from low revs.

I didn't buy them for performance though so I 'm not too worried that the bike isn't too much quicker.

Although I like the sound, I think I'll probably go with some V & H's later this year.
