UPDATE........ Motor Tuned and Done, Next Paint Job

As for the motor its nuts man such a night and day difference almost scary when you crack that throttle it pulls like a train and keeps pulling the TQ which is 116 starts at 2500rpm and peaks at 4100rpm and keeps going thru 6000rpm and it never dips under 100lbs which is awesome..

So the bike is in for paint gonna go with the Pepper Grey Metallic with black racing stripes I am spraying the Tank, Front Fender, Rear Fender, Battery Box Cover and Fuse Box Cover and Headlight Bucket all Pepper Grey Metallic which is like a gunmetal grey but it has like black flakes in it hense the Pepper Grey Mettalic.. I would do the frame aswell if it wasnt riding season and I would be down for a real long time but I will save that for next winter project... I also swapped all my hardware to chrome which was a real PITA to do worth it in the end I used 12pt bolts all around in chrome and it ads a real nice touch to everything..

Need opinions should I add more chrome or no?? I was thinking of adding the Clutch Cover, Cam Cover and tranny top cover in Chrome to add some more chrome also was thinking of doing the outer primary cover in Chrome aswell.. I am going away from the all black theme and since the bike is gonna be metallic grey as my new base color maybe adding some more chrome wont hurt what do you guys think???? here are some pics

i wouldn't buy those things yet, but keep them in mind for when the bike comes back from paint.

you're gonna take a hit returning/selling them if you buy them now. i'd wait until the paint came back to see if you like the way it looks with the black cover.

jmo of course

Yeah I hear ya I am just over this blacked out fad I want to add more chrome either way so forgetting that the bike is gonna be Pepper Grey Metallic lets say it stayed this color denim black how would it look with more chrome like the primary and cam, and clutch cover, I would also change the derby and timing cover to black ones to off set a bit..

personally...i'd add chrome in more subtle places.

levers, rear axle caps, battery band stripe, coil cover, etc. with the pipes, rocker boxes, caliper inserts, derby and timing cover and front axle spikes it'll all tie together.

just because your bike is black doesn't mean it's blacked out...it's not.

i just really like the way your silver/chrome motor looks sitting in the middle of the black engine cases.

again this is all just my opinion, you should do what you think is gonna look best, you haven't made a wrong decision yet, i don't think you're gonna mess up now lol.

Well you have to remember my bike was this before I started this winter..

It was all blacked out... I think adding the Cam Cover, clutch cover and tranny top will give it all that nice black cases with chrome accent pieces and on the other side a chrome outer primary cover with a black derby cover will also look good. I already ordered chrome rotors so I am just trying to tie it all together.. Like I said I am just over the black out thing everybody is doing it and it just doesnt do anyhting for me no more before I liked it but after adding some chrome here and there I really like the equal mix of chrome and black I think it looks real classy.. I def value all opinions cause sometimes its good to see it threw someone elses eyes you know just to get more ideas and what not.. I also ordered the new foot controls from harley the edge cut they have the contrast cut in them... I just want to have a custom Fat Bob def from everyhting else thats out there you know everybody does the same to there Fat Bob black it out.... I am gonna be def.. Thanks bro

UPDATE..............

Went to the shop to see the paint and the Pepper Grey Metallic just didnt look right it almost had a weird green tint to it and the metal flake wasnt really there just didnt really pop almost looked like a stock ford grey... Anyway so I went threw the paint chips and House of Kolor books etc and decided on Galaxy Silver which is a silver thats a bit on the darker side and has a ton of flake in it looks great on the black so the base is gonna be Galaxy Silver with gloss black stripes. The front fender is gonna be all black its just to narrow to put the silver down and the black racing stripe, and I dont think it will look good if the front fender has a super small stripe and the rest of the bike has a thick black racing stripe.. So basically I did the stripe the with of the front fender so if you look at the bike the fender is black but it flows right into the tank stripe cause they are the same width aswell as the rear fender so the tank will be silver with the black stripe and the rear will be silver with the black stripe and the front fender will be all black I think it will look good and again I dont always run a front fender when I do a long ride then yes it goes on cause if it rains that rooster tail is no fun the whole time trust me.......

Added some more chrome I think it will look good with the new color of the bike, I ordered the Tranny Top cover, Outer Primary Cover, Clutch Cover, and Cam Cover all Chrome with Black Timming cover and Black Derby cover to off set it a bit.. Was also thinking of doing some new hand controls and going chrome on them cause I have Black Risers and Black Bars so I figure chrome hand controls and grips might look pretty good.. I was looking at the Arlen Ness Rad III what do you guys think???
