Default kickstand removal question

I have a 97 Super Glide and my kickstand is in need of rechroming but I'd like to know the best and easiest way to either removing the entire assembly or just the stand itself. If you think just the stand, whats the easiest way to get to the bolt holding it on. It's on an angle that makes getting a wrench on it almost impossible. If I should remove the entire assembly, whats the trick to that. My bike is on a lift right now, Many thanks

remove your floorboards taken five min job, and then you will have access to the stand. remove the bolt on top of the assembly first should be a 1/2 inch. Then push the stand all the way forward to the front of the bike, this will allow you to take the spring off. then the stand just slides out from under the assembly.

I am able to get at the bolt at the top of the stand, tried to turn it, won't turn, should I just power turn it til it finally breaks free? Who ever said taking a bike apart would be easy Thanks for the help so far, any new suggestions would be greatly appreciated
