Remove Front Wheel Without Removing Caliper?

Default Remove Front Wheel Without Removing Caliper?
Hi all. I was going to finish up my 20K by changing out the fork oil on my 06 Street Bob. I went to take the caliper off and found that both caliper bolts were either over-torqued or locktited to the point they both stripped. I had a tire change about 2500 miles ago and I'm assuming that's when the bolts were reinstalled incorrectly. Anyway...

I'm wondering if you guys know whether the tire/wheel can clear the caliper if I try to take the wheel off and put it back on without removing the caliper. It looks next to impossible, but, I figure someone's tried before and maybe they know.

Thanks in advance.

(Now to figure out the caliper bolt problem).

Did you use a 12pt socket? a 6 point 10mm will just spin and spin.

nope needs to be pulled to clear the rim

I never remove my caliper when I remove my rim/tire...should just slide right out..

Yeah, I did. They definitely screwed it up for me. Wondering...

I have a Mighty Vac. Think I can suck the fluid out from the top?

Did you deflate your tire or could you do it fully pressured?

I see from your pic that your wheel could sort of allow that. I'm fully spoked here.

I was thinking now...my tire is a 90/90/21....maybe skinner than yours..

I dont remove my front caliper when I take off my front wheel off. I did the first time because the manual said to but after I did I didnt see any reason to so I never have again.

I had the stock mag and now have the HD chrome version of the same wheel, both go on and off no problem.
