Default drip drop drippity drop drop questions

Ok so here is what I got going on. My 2009 Fat Bob has not been started for about a month now. So last weekend the temp hit 50 and of course I just had to ride. I went out for about an hour or so and then parked it back in the garage. I noticed the next day that it had a small wet spot(about 4-5 drops worth) under it and I began to investigate. It seemed to me that it was coming from the clutch cable under the bike where it runs along the lower frame rail. I wiped the entire cable clean and 4 days later there was still no new wet spot under the bike. I took it out for another ride this time I went out for 4 hours. I parked it in the garage again. I checked it the next morning and no wet spot on the floor but there was fluid on the cable it just had not dropped onto the ground yet. I am thinking that maybe the trans was slightly over filled and some fluid had run into the cable. The part of the cable that is getting wet is also the lowest point of the cable. There dose not appear to be any fluid running down the outside of the cable so I figure its running down the inside of the cable and settling in the lowest point. I checked the trans fluid today and its reading exactly on the upper full mark. Does my conclusion sound correct? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I believe you diagnosed it right. If you had a real leak it wouldn't all of a sudden stop leaking.

Make sure your tranny vent is not kinked or clogged.

I have the same issue on my bike:

Where does this oil come from?

A few weeks ago I noticed an oil stain on the floor under the bike. Checked where it came from and found out it must have come off the clutch cable.

Wiped off the oil and cleaned the clutch cable. Didn't ride the bike since I 've cleaned the clutch cable.

Possible causes: leaking O-ring or cracked clutch cable. Haven't got the time to take off the clutch cable yet.....

It's quite possible the "O" ring lost some it's sealing properties when it got cold and not warmed up entirely. I've seen this happen on hydraulic actuators in cold weather. My fluid level for the trans is 20-24 ozs., I put in 22 ozs. and everything works out fine.
