The HF high lift jack is very good for servicing motorcycles.
I have used it on the Ultra, Dyna, Softail and Sportster. Have to rig something up for the Buell.
I paid $129 for it when it was on sale and a 20% off coupon. Retail is $169 I think. But there is always a sale and or coupon from HF. Never pay retail at HF.
Actually, getting serious again - I have one of those HF scissor lifts - it's a bitch to get it under the bike as it is...and even when I do, the bike isn't straight-up when I lift it. Anyone have a fix for this?

always used a lever type lift that I made. Found a jack last summer at a garage sale for $35.00 no name, but look like a J+S but its red (no name). Had to cut 3, 2"x3"'s to fit under my dyna, but what the hell, I only use it 2-3 times a year. Put my money somewhre else.
Have the Sears jack and do not like it. Wish I'd have done some research first, but bought it years before I knew about the Forum. Would spend a little more on a better fix. The HF and J&S jacks look like much better options. If I could find a lift table at a reasonable price, I'd buy that. Living in AK, shipping is too much for any of them.
The J&S looks pretty compact. For those of us who dont have a garage to keep stuff in, how easy is it to either leave in my SUV or carry it up to my condo unit (at least I have an elevator).
Or is there any other compact jack that is reasonably stable?

Throw that piece of HF sheet away and get a J & S jack and be pleased each time you look at it. You will be so tickled each time you use it you will never purchase HF crap again.
