No one jack does everything. So I have the regular one if moving is needed and the Condor Chock set up on the Bend Pax four post lift to get every thing at eye level.
Here's the Ultra going down after a oil cooler install.
I will suggest that if a bike falls off any lift made, it is the operators error - period.
After looking at jacks, I found the Pitbull to be the best in my opinion. I haven't bought one yet but figure at some point this summer I will. I found the price at the shows they go to is absolutely the least you will get one for.
Ditto on the J&S jack. I've had mine for over 2 years and it works flawlessly. I have a Lowrider and it slips under it with no trouble. No blocks as stated above.

Spend the few extra bucks and go with a J&S.....a great jack and the customer service can't be beat.
I stored my '07 FXDL on my J&S all Winter and was able to move it around my garage when needed with no problem. There are no boards, pads or anything else needed to lift the bike evenly, and tie-down straps are not needed to keep the bike secure.
Take a look at the video on the J&S website....very impressive (and true)!
I also have the J&S also it has a lifetime warranty. My bottle started leaking and I called J&S and they shipped me a new one for free. I couldn't be happier with their service. I bought the Fluid Pan and the wheel chock from them and they shipped them to me. In the winter I put the Dyna in the chock block, and the bagger stays up on the lift. So the my wife can get in the garage. No problems what so ever, I only strap the bikes down on either lift just because I'm afraid they will fall over from a large earthquake besides mother nature trying to make them fail. I'm confident and extremely happy in my choice even though they were pricey especially the shipping to me, way up here in Alaska.
The funny thing about getting them I was not expecting them to be delivered to the house till a monday morning via UPS. All the J&S parts I ordered flew into Anchorage on Friday. The manager at UPS called and told me that, they were at the warehouse and I guess he saw the word motorcycle on the box and gave me a call, told me to come pick it up at the warehouse and they would have it waiting for me, if I wanted to get it or they would deliver it to my house on Monday. Pretty cool so I received the everything three days earlier than expected.
Here's a vid showing how to mod a Sears Craftsman MC/ATV lift to fit a Dyna.
The guy never really says but you need to put one lift arm to the rear of oil pan protection flange on the right rear frame. After doing the mod, the other arm is now far enough forward to support the bike. It's not as secure as a J&S, but it works and you can find HF and SC all day on CL for cheap.

Care to substantiate that?
Because I can substantiate arguing the other side of that.
If you find the thread detailing that mod, you'll find 8541Hog responded during the earthquake in D.C. He happened to have his bike on a modded craftsman jack without strapping it and the bike didn't move one inch.
