Look at the brake caliper mounting tab thats welded to the swing arm. I'll bet its different between the two bikes. Didnt they update the rear caliper in 08?

Yeah but the deal is 2006-2009 have a different part number than 2010-2011. That is what he is trying to figure out. What makes them different.
The 2006-09 part # is 48458-06 and the 2010-11 is 48458-10. I am willing to bet that no drastic change was made. Not enough that they would not swap out. But that is really hard to say without having them side by side to compare.

It difference could be in the bearing area....
btw, I think you misspelled Stealership, i think it's stealership not stealership but then again stealership could be the correct spelling of stealership
I would pay someone if they could tell me the difference between the 2 swingarms, why,,,whats different that made them change? I have called all over the US and not one dam person can tell me why!!!!! Its a big ****in hd bs secret!
Section 2.23 in my Dyna service manual is dedicated to the rear fork, as it is called. It is possible the difference between the two swingarm part numbers is that later bikes have metric axles, so the holes in the swingarm may be different in size.
See know one really knows!! HD tech said he didnt even know....maybe i should call honda cars in japan, the guy that put the hoods on the cars on the line ,,maybe he would know!
