Forward Controls Question
Can you mount forward controls on a '04 Dyna Low with and engine guard installed? I have a friend who wants to me to install a set on hers, but I'm not sure how that works with the engine guard on it. The stock Harley controls say "Not compatible with Engine Guard on FXD and FXDL models."

As far as I know, the engine guard will occupy the same space and mounting points as the forward controls and are therefore deemed incompatible.
However, ingenuity is always important in matters of these sorts, so if you have the ability, maybe you can find the solution.
Perhaps the forwards will still fit over the engine guard's mounts with longer bolts, maybe a bit of cutting will be needed. You really won't know until you have both in hand.
I've made a lot of parts fit that weren't supposed to, but sometimes it is impossible to do without extensive work that you may not be equipped to handle.
If the forward controls are more important than the guards, then just buy them. You will then be able to see if you can get the guards to fit with them. If they can't be made to fit together, you will still have the forward controls to use and the guards to sell.
