I got them fixed. A resistor on the left insert had come loose. A little silver solder and a soldering iron now I'm back in business. Yesterday was chilly it only got to about 45 with a strong wind. So I decided I had 30 minutes to kill let me try these out. I was not disappointed. These things throw some heat. I started off on level 3 but quickly had to take it down to level 2. I was wearing a lightweight glove and my hands were sweating. They are usually the first things that get cold. What a great decision.

So you used your original grips. Did you have any problems with removing it and re gluing it or problems with it loosening up with the heat? Did you use the glue that came with the kit? Also, is the switch housing plastic or metal and does it seem sturdy, just wondering since it clamps the clutch lever?
Thanks

I believe it is plastic but it seems sturdy enough. I used my original grips and had no problem getting them off. A little heat, a little compressed air and some muscling it got it off with no damage. I used the glue they gave me and it is holding strong. I don't think you have to worry about the clutch as it also locks into the switch housing to give it additional support. You do have an option of a right side controller on the throttle side. I bought mine before that option.

Thanks, I think this is the way to go. I was thinking about heated grips, but it seems most everyone complains they quit working in less than a year.

Well, I looked and the best I could find was $99 from Eastern Performance on eBay. Seems eBay is running a 10% off coupon for certain purchases, check your messages, (paypal only?) and this item was one of them. So I got them for $89 free shipping and no out of State tax. Let you know how the install turns out.

Good luck with them. It should take only 2 hours. I took the tank off and ran electrical back under the seat.

Love my Heat Demons! I have always ridden right down to a few degrees above freezing and I am enjoying the heated grips so much that I wonder how I managed without them. If you run into any difficulty just fire off an email to their customer support. Joe, their technical support guy is first rate and so is the product. If you are installing into an electronic throttle bike, undo the connector for it by following the wires from the lower mid part of the handlebar where there is an opening in the bar (look under the radio). On a bat wing bike like mine, you remove the outer fairing. Cut off a few zip ties for this wiring and bring the disconnected connector close to the opening of the bar. This will give you lots of play to easily slide the electronic throttle control out of the bar. Also, when connecting the controller to the handlebar, gently pull the wires tight from the end of the bar before putting on the grip (or work the controller wires completely into the bar through the hole you make in the handlebar before tightening the controller into place). Otherwise, it is easy to pinch a wire when tightening the controller into place. Don't ask me how I know this and how I know how excellent their customer support is.
