I lowered my risers on my 11 Fatbob, at full right lock the aft curved metal cable guide will hit the tank. Looks like it needs about an 1" more travel to clear. Any ideas? Any aftermarket throttles that dont use these curved guides hanging down? Thx.

Did you do a tank raise? You can also just buy taller risers. I'm not sure about different cables, the stock cable guides don't come down far at all, any shorter and the cable's radiused bend would be too tight.
Tank hasent been raised, the new one piece chrome risers are only 1" shorter. I really liked the look, so want to use them, just looking for alternatives in throttles. Dont want to change the bars, maybe if i remove the metal guide and replace it with a soft plastic piece. Would not scratch or dent the tank if i ever turn the bars that far. Also maybe add about 1/2" to the rt fork lock. Any other ideas? Thx

How would you disassemble the throttle cable and still be able to reassemble it for use? I'm not sure that's possible.
I have seen internal throttle cables on custom bikes. I have never used one but here is a link for one of them. http://www.retrocycle.com/VTwinParts...OTTLE_KIT.html
Do a search on the internet for internal throttles, there seemed to be a lot of them out there. Like I said I have never installed any of these kits so I am not sure how hard it would be to do and if there are any kits available for your bike.
I was thinking cutting off the throttle end cable ball end. I work in aircraft maint. In the old days we used to make our own flight control and engine cables when they would fray. Then swage new ends on them. I think we still have the tools. Then remove the metal guide and replace it with plastic or rubber hose? I did find those internal throttle kits on the market but they use only one cable setup. Also like the old days, so no failsafe return. Will have to play with it this weekend. Thx.
