So I have an 08 fat bob with factory forward controls and I go through pegs like its my job. I have trouble with the pegs mushrooming and flexing back over time. This makes it terrible to keep my feet on the pegs in the wind. It seems to be worse on the right peg because the bolt runs through the middle of the clevis for the break pedal pivot leaving just a thin edge for the peg to press against. Compounding issue is aluminum pegs from harley (diamond black).
So anyone know of better forward control brackets? aftermarket that is?
Steel pegs that are cool and functional?
anyone have this happen?
Will try to snap a pict.
On the positive notw all the pegs I have trashed are going to make a great coat rack
If I am correct in what I'm seeing, I believe his pegs are wearing our at their "stop" point and angling more forward. I was considering geting a set of Diamond Black pegs. Now I'm not so sure.
Hope you find something that works for you bud!

I just put them on my bike in the fall, I guess I'll have to keep an eye on them...
how long/miles have you put on them since you installed them???
Yes the are compressing at the stop point. It is especially bad on the right peg. I would not describe it as wearing as its not material getting ground down it the peg crushing or mushrooming. So the peg ends up angling forward.
I am thinking it is just related to aluminum pegs but I cant find anyone else who has ever had it happen. Also it is definitely an issue with the limited amount of contact surface at the stop on the right peg.
I am on the third set of pegs in 20k and these are just starting to show the issue.
So everyone go out, fold up the right peg and feel it there is a groove forming at the stop point of the right peg.
