Default Turn signal relocation kit..

Hello
I just bought my first HD ( 2011 fat bob) , and I want to ask how hard it would be to put a front turn signal relocation kit ( to the fork) on at home. I was quoted at $89.00+ for labor at the H-D shop. Is this something I can do at home with out causing issues or void the service warr?

Thanks

$89 is just an hour of labor. The relocation is easy to do, do it yourself and save the labor charge for the next mod. The more you do yourself, the more you can do.

Relocating your turn signals should not be a big issue. It is pretty straightforward and should not cause any issues with your warranty if you do it yourself.

Congrats on the new bike! Since it's your first HD, I'm not sure if you're aware of the different options with relocation kits or not. If so then disregard my post. I just wanted to let you know plenty of members (myself included) weren't happy with the look of the HD ones. They cost too much, and stick out too far. They make the front end look like a hammerhead with it's wide eyes spread far apart from the front forks. I received mine from HD, and had the dealer send them right back...then I spent half as much for some that look better, and fit closer into the trees.

It's too easy to do. I wouldn't pay anyone to do it.

With a little bit of patience you could probably do it yourself. I might take you a couple of hours depending on how comfortable you are working on your bike but I wouldn't pay someone $89 to do it.

You have to take apart the molex connectors which hide up in the frame under the gas tank to pull the wires through. That is time consuming. I just did mine and elected to take the tank right off to get at the buggers easier. I love the Kuryakyn brand clamps which I used but originally wanted the small little compact ones that bolt to the fork pinch clamps, but on my FXDWG the bolts go off on an angle, hence the Kuryakyn. This isn't a very good picture but does illustrate how compact they are.

This video helped me when I changed out my bars and relocated my turn signals to a spotlight bar set-up....

Thanks for the Info/tips , I'm going to go ahead and do it myself. I also do not like the lights sticking out on the fork like a hammer lol. The one in that pic above is about what I was wanting to do.

The video is a great help I already bookmarked it
