Has anyone actually seen their MPG go up after installing a tuner and high flow filter? I'm avering 42-44 mpg now on my '11 fxdc, stock with pipes. I know that's not bad but was curious about this question. I just did the 1000 mile service and changed the engine and trans to synthetic, maybe that'll bump it up a bit.
Gas prices are ridiculous now. I started riding street bikes in the early 80s and you could fill a bike up for about $5.00. Now it would be $20.00 from empty. I also walked up hill both ways to school and back. lol I just realized I sound just like my father.
I'm getting 42 mpg with the PC-V in open loop, SE stage 1 kit, and Rush slip-ons w/2" baffles. That's mostly riding the freeways around town, with some in-town riding. I have yet to check mpg on a good highway run. I may go for a 200 mile run tomorrow, just to check the highway mpg.
I have the auto-tune kit for my bike, but have yet to take the time to install it. I expect to get a slight improvement from running in closed loop.
I had planned to cut out the catalyst from the head-pipe collector, but I don't see a compelling reason to do so at this point in time.
If its right, its right, the extra power may allow you to use less throttle to cruise but if you open the taps in anger it should suck it down a bit faster...
I just had my 4th bike tuned by the same tuner. He understands there is more than just tuning for power. While I just got my bike tuned I haven't had an oppertunity to check the mileage. But the previous 3 all got better mileage after the tune and I expect the same results on number 4.

I rode 80 mph for two hours today. MPG not so great fighting the wind at that speed. I only got 39 mpg. Gonna have to do it again when I install the auto tune and o2 sensors to see if it improves any at that speed. I think the hard push through the wind was also a big factor, as it's not working so hard at 65-70 mph.
Going from stock to 2 into 1's, Big Sucker and PCIII didn't change my fuel mileage, it still averaged around 40 with bests around 47 to 49 if cruising around 60.
