I'm looking for a more comfortable seat for longer rides. Will probably leave the stocker on most of the time when riding around town, but I don't like the longer rides on it.
I see a lot of options, but they cost more than I want to pay. I'm hoping to find something on ebay at a reasonable cost, even if I have to upholster it myself.
Are the mounts different from FL models? Are the mounts specific to certain years?
Personally i really like the look of the cc seat. I have the mustang seat with drivers backrest. I really love this seat. I bought it used since new they are over 500 bucks. Very comfortable especially with the removeable drivers backrest. Really helps the lower back. THe advantage of going with mustang over the cc is that you can run solo if you want with the mustang since its 2 pieces. With the cc i believe its 1 piece.
What ever you do get rid of that stock seat. The difference between the stock seat and any aftermarket seat is like night and day. I have the Mustang and cant say enough good things about it. I think I found it on E-bay for a lot less than the dealer. Here's a few pictures.
I have a Saddlemen Renegade solo on my 2010 WG right now. +1 on the night and day difference. Stock seat is awful even on short rides, but I have back problems anyway (22+ years in military). Looking at a C&C two up with a back rest in the near future though. I don't ride two up, but want to carry a bag sometimes on my bike. My wife just bought a C&C fastback custom made to move her forward 1.5 inches on her 2004 WG. It's great and they do quality work, very user friendly. She spoke to them on the phone several times to get it right and their customer service is spot on. Highly recommend them if you can find a style that you like. And they can cover it with just about any material you want.
