Like I said earlier Dealers are as different as night and day some will work with you and some wonât. If you find a dealer that will stand behind the stuff he installs, even if it comes with the disclaimer, then stay with him and give him your business.
When I had the 95" kit put on my Dyna last year, the dealer that did the work not only added a SERT, but warranted the engine mods as well. Their view was that what kind of a dealer would they be if didn't stand behind their work? Nothing but good things to say about the big bore build or service, motor runs strong and still brings a grin to my face over 7000 miles later.
It does vary from dealer to dealer, shop around. Most dealers won't void the warranty if they install the SERT. Hell, I went to 4 HD dealers and got 4 different voiding warranty stories before I had my 95" done. One would say any work will void the warranty, another told me anything short of adding cams would void it and on and on.
Find a dealer that will stand by their work and you'll be making a good choice.
Thanks for all the replys. I kinda figurred from what ive read on here in the past that its a roll of the dice when it comes to the dealers. I have had no problems with the dealer where i bought my bike, they have done all my servicing and i buy most of my aftermarket parts through them and they did the warrenty for the injectors without a single problem. Ands not to mention that i have bought 3 bikes off them since last september. I was thinking of going with a different dealer simply because the one i deal with is boat ride away, but i think now in the long run it will be much better to stick with the one ive been dealing with.
