I hope not since I bought one the same day as I purchased the bike along with the SE A/C Stage 1 and Exhaust. I went with the SERT since it doesn't add anything in the circuit like the PCIII does and modifies the ECM directly and then is removed. One less item to go bad and from everything I read is the preferred way to go.
