High idle on start up ???

High idle on start up ???

07 FXDWG
Intermitant High Idle on start up.
stock with
PC III, V&H BSS, HD Heavy breather.
No engine light. Runs strong.
Thinking spray the throttle body ???????

my superglide when it starts idles @ 20 rpm, then as it warms up it drops to 15rpm then it settles out @10rpm. i don't know if that helps or not.

Mine is high too on startup.
Check youre Idle cable might be too tight or stocked somewhere.

In a oder angle of ideas I can play with it with TTS Mastertune, they say to keep at least 900 rpm for the oil to reach what it needs to reach. I don't know if you can with your tuner

The IAC (Idle Air Controller) on mine has to be cleaned once in a while, gives the same symptoms.

If you are running pciii try to zero throttle and go from there, do a search on the power commander website, they will show you how to do it.

That and clean your throttle body every air filter service. Clean around the butterfly and NEVER start the bike with the brakleen or WD40 in the throttle body as it will coat your 02 sensors.

I didn't have to go into the PC III settings [ Thank god ]
The throttle lock was a tad tight , I cleaned the Dirty cable end, the Throttle body , butter fly and IAC tip . Works great . High Idle on cold start up for a few seconds then down a bit then down to what it was.
